ROJI Japanese Gardens

roji (pronounced: rc:-dgee; the o is like the o-sound in ‘all’)
and means ‘dewy path’

Since 1987 we, Reiner & Gesine Jochems, turned our passion into our main purpose of life. Since then we managed to collect many experiences in planning and implementation of larger and smaller garden projects.
We travelled to Japan for the first time in 1991 and visited approximately 100 gardens in two months… Upon our return we formed our company ROJI.
Our main focus is on developing coherent concepts in which the individual wishes of our clients are brought together in harmony with the design essence of the art of Japanese gardening.
The complexity of Japanese gardens requires intensive planning, sophisticated knowledge of various crafts and the artistic ability of implementing Japanese design principles such as simplicity, balance, grace…
Our aim is to create gardens that appeal to all senses, in which the green-in-green of the planting, the sound of the water, the strolling pattern over stepping stones and pathways and the various natural stone surfaces all contribute to a harmonious whole.
